Energy CS Hon. James Opiyo Wandayi has assured Kenyans that the country has adequate fuel reserves and stable distribution systems despite ongoing global supply and logistics disruptions affecting energy markets worldwide. Speaking after conducting spot checks at several petrol stations across Machakos County, the Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary said the Government is closely monitoring the fuel supply chain to ensure uninterrupted access to petroleum products across the country. Wandayi noted that Kenya currently holds sufficient fuel stocks under both strategic and commercial reserves, adding that imports and distribution continue normally through established channels. He further reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening Kenya’s long-term energy security through expanded fuel infrastructure, diversification of supply sources, and increased investment in renewable energy solutions. The assurance comes at a time when several countries are grappling with energy market uncertainties triggered by international supply chain pressures and fluctuating global oil dynamics.
