Siaya County has taken a bold step in transforming early childhood education with the unveiling of a state-of-the-art Model ECDE Centre at Barkowino in North Sakwa. Launched under the visionary leadership of H.E. Governor James Orengo, the facility is the first of its kind in the county and reflects a strong commitment to investing in the foundational stages of learning. The modern centre offers a holistic and inclusive learning environment, featuring PP1, PP2 and playgroup classrooms, administrative offices, a lactation room, a digital library, a resource centre, and fully equipped kitchen and dining facilities. It also boasts indoor and outdoor play areas, meeting and training halls for instructors, and specialized learning spaces tailored for children with special needs. This comprehensive setup is designed to support both learners and educators, ensuring quality education from the earliest years.
