Hon.Kevin Odero

Ugunja Ward MCA aspirant Hon. Kevin Odero has continued to strengthen his grassroots engagement after visiting a group of widows in the ward, where he shared the Word of God and sensitized them on their legal rights and social welfare.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Kevin Odero highlighted the challenges widows face in society, including discrimination, economic hardship, and lack of awareness regarding their legal protections.

He emphasized the need for communities to stand with widows and ensure they are treated with dignity and respect.

The aspiring MCA praised the women for remaining strong pillars of their families despite enduring unimaginable grief and hardship.

“I gave them their flowers for emerging as strong family pillars amidst unimaginable grief,”

The meeting also served as a platform to encourage unity, hope, and empowerment among the widows, many of whom expressed gratitude for the support and recognition.

According to Hon. Odero, the engagement was not only about sharing encouragement but also about creating awareness on issues affecting widows and advocating for their inclusion in community development programs.

“Our mums went home smiling. Thank you, Ugunja Ward,” he added.

Residents who attended the gathering welcomed the initiative, saying such forums help address the silent struggles many widows go through while also restoring hope and confidence within the community.
