President William Samoei Ruto has met with Members of the Siaya County Assembly in a strategic consultative engagement aimed at aligning national development programmes with the county’s priority needs and unlocking Siaya’s full development potential.

The high-level meeting took place at the Eldoret State Lodge in Uasin Gishu County and was attended by Siaya MCAs led by Speaker George Owino Okode, Cabinet Secretary Hon. Opiyo Wandayi, and Interior Principal Secretary Hon. Raymond Omollo.

According to the President, the discussions centred on harmonising development agendas between the national and county governments to ensure investments translate into tangible benefits for local communities.

We agreed on the need to accelerate projects that are underway and fast-track planned initiatives, ensuring that development delivers real impact for the people ~ President Ruto.

The leaders emphasized coordinated planning, accountability, and timely implementation of projects to enhance service delivery across critical sectors including infrastructure development, healthcare, education, agriculture, youth empowerment, and security.

CS Opiyo Wandayi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening devolution by supporting counties in delivering impactful development outcomes, while PS Raymond Omollo highlighted the importance of administrative coordination and security stability in creating an enabling environment for investment and economic growth.

Speaker George Owino Okode welcomed the engagement, describing it as a positive step towards strengthening collaboration between Siaya County leadership and the national government to accelerate service delivery and address pressing development needs.

The meeting reflects a renewed commitment by the Kenya Kwanza administration to foster inclusive growth, improve livelihoods, and ensure sustainable development reaches every corner of the country, including Siaya County.
