Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has held extensive talks with Oburu Oginga and Emily Awita, signaling a push toward a pre-election coalition between Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

The discussions reflect ODM’s strategy to align with UDA in pursuit of political stability and shared governance. Wandayi’s involvement highlights the link between policy and political planning, while Oginga and Awita contribute leadership experience and electoral coordination.

At the center is a potential agreement on joint campaigning, resource sharing, and candidate coordination to avoid vote splitting. ODM’s grassroots strength, combined with UDA’s incumbency advantage, could create a unified front ahead of the elections.

If finalized, the coalition would mark a shift toward structured alliances, positioning both parties to jointly influence Kenya’s governance and development agenda.
